Popular Thai Dishes

Some of Sa-Bai Thong’s signature dishes are among the most popular Thai dishes around the world. Keep in mind that there are many ways to say pronounce and spell Thai food dishes, so we’ve included a few variations.

Here’s a sample of popular Thai food on our menu:

1.-spring-roll-186x129Spring Roll Appetizer
Also called Por Pia Tord, this crispy roll is filled with mung bean noodle, cabbage and carrot and fried. It is served with a sweet and sour house sauce and ground peanut on the side. Available in veggie or regular, the meat-eater’s version adds ground pork and shrimp.

Som Tum (or Som Tam) is a spicy papaya salad with a combination of strong spice and sour flavors. Our Thai salad is made with shredded green papaya, carrot, tomato, green beans, peanut and spicy lime juice.

Tom Yum soup is a spicy and sour clear broth soup made with chili paste, lemon grass, mushroom, kaffir lime leaves, galangal (in the ginger family), cilantro, herbs, spices and choice of protein. It is called Tom Yam Kai soup when it comes with chicken, or Tom Yam Goong when it comes with shrimp.

Tom Ka is a Thai soup with a unique flavor. Our soup is made with coconut milk (gati), lemon grass, lime leaves, chili paste, galanga, cilantro, mushroom, lime juice and choice of protein. It is also sometimes called Tom Kha Kai (with chicken) or Tom Kha Gai (with shrimp) soup.

 

42.-Pa-Naeng-186x130Pa-Naeng (or Panaeng)
Pa-Naeng has a thick and spicy coconut cream sauce similar to red curry. We offer traditional Pa-Naeng, a vegetable Pa-Naeng and Pad Pa-Naeng Hang which may include peanut sauce, zucchini, green peas, carrot, squash, cauliflower, broccoli and choice of protein, depending on your entrée selection.

Our Pad Thai is a traditional fried noodle dish made with small rice noodles stir fried with bean sprouts, green onion, shredded cabbage, radish, ground peanut, egg, yellow tofu and choice of additional protein.

Guey Tuey means noodle, and Kee Mao means Drunk. Guey Tuey Kee Mao is a dish made with flat rice noodles stir-fried with chili sauce, basil, red pepper, onion, bamboo shoots, mushroom, and choice of protein.

Khao Pad (or Kao Phad) is a Thai style fried rice made with egg, green peas, onion, tomatoes and choice of meat or tofu.

 

40.-Massamun-186x130Mus-Mun Curry
Mus-Mun (or Massaman) is a hearty curry sauce made with cinnamon, onion, coriander, anise, cumin, potato, apple, peanut and choice of mixed veggie, tofu or meat (chicken, pork, beef, shrimp).

Mixed Vegetable curry uses a yellow curry sauce which has curry powder and tumeric powder. Both the Jungle curry and Squash curry have a red curry sauce. The name Jungle also means forest, so this curry has a lot of vegetables.

Our Sa Bai Favorites feature sauces different than those of others. The Pad Prix Khing features our Prix Khing curry sauce, to compliment the green beans. Yum Tai – Wai and Seeda Longsong are two dishes that come with our signature peanut sauce. Peanut sauce is commonly found, but ours is a step above the rest.
